Unanswered Questions

Just yesterday, a little girl passed away. Just a little over one years old. She was beautiful and was struggling to stay alive.

She lived on the other side of the world. I only knew here from reading her 24 page file and by seeing pictures of her on a facebook group I am a part of.

Back in September, Dave and I went through the process of reviewing several files of children with moderate to severe special needs who needed families. They were the kiddos on the special focus list and, as you can imagine, this process was really difficult for us emotionally. I wrote a little about it here: https://ourpotter.wordpress.com/2013/10/

Thankfully, this little girl had a family choose her right around the time we chose Max. She was loved and wanted, not only by her heavenly father but also her adoptive family. Because they had already had a home study completed she would be able to come home sooner than if we would have pursued her.

In the world of adoption, there are always going to be unanswered questions. I don’t know why God chose to bring her home before she met her adoptive family and got the surgery she needed. I do know that she is no longer suffering and is in Jesus’ arms right this very second.
